First, it is necessary to determine the color. For example, latex paints create a strong coating and to the same time they are water-resistant, acrylic paints create a matte effect. The most in demand are environmentally friendly paints, since they perfectly fit for children’s rooms.
It is necessary not to forget and to take into account the lighting of the room, since at insufficient lighting, dark shades of paint will visually reduce the size of the room, and light - increase. At insufficient lighting of the room, give preference to light shades.
Proceeding directly to painting, it will require:
- stick with a handle for a roller,
- the roller itself is short-haired (the length of the hair is up to 10 mm),
- a small roller for painting corners and other difficult-to-reach places,
- brushes (preferably flat and round),
- painter’s tape,
- film and cardboard for protecting the floor and furniture from dust and paint,
- a special container with a grid for squeezing out excess paint.
First, it is necessary to close all the furniture with a film, the floor is better covered with cardboard or waterproof paper. Then stick the painter’s tape on the top of the skirting board, the door frame, the windows.
Following the instructions, it is necessary to prepare the paint, adding 15% water for the first layer, close the bucket with a lid and stir until a homogeneous mass is formed and pour into the container for painting.
First, it is necessary to paint the corners, using a small roller and brushes. Dip the tools into the paint, remove the excess paint, squeezing the brush over the grid of the container. Apply the paint evenly to the wall.
Before starting work with a roller, it is necessary to dip it in water and shake it off, subsequently the roller will absorb enough paint and lay down evenly on the wall.
The movements should be performed in the direction from top to bottom, pressing the roller against the wall. If necessary, the roller should be again impregnated with paint.
In the same way, paint the entire surface of the walls in two layers. Pay special attention to the fact that the paint should lie evenly, without underflows and gaps. If you need to stop working for some time, the roller is better to wrap in a plastic film, and cover the container with paint so that it does not dry out.
